Name: Olivia Patterson

Age: 18

School: Allan Hancock College

What issue area are you most passionate about? Which do you know the most about?  (Immigration, environment, woman’s rights, mental health, LGBTQ rights, etc.):

I am passionate about each of these subjects, but more specifically, mental health. Mental health is something I found great importance in and have dealt with. I know more about the topic because I have learned ways to help my mental health. All of these issues I am passionate about, but mental health stand out a little more to me.

What activities do like to do regularly as a pastime?

I work at Jersey Mikes about 4 of the 7 days of the week. I also love to work out every morning. If I have time I love to paint or simply relax and watch a movie. I also enjoy doing these same activities with friends too.

What clubs/organizations/sports/job are you involved with outside of youth making change?

I work at Jersey Mikes and I also do a little Doordashing on the side. Now that I am out of high school I plan on joining new clubs in college. There is an ambassador program for Hancock that I am very interested in.

Is there anything else that you would like people to know about yourself?

I love helping others whether it be in small ways that make day to day life easier or in large ways that could impact their lives. For example, in high school I was president of Foreign Exchange club where I helped our foreign exchange students get accustomed to life in America. This made a large impact on their lives and everyone in the club made lifelong friends.
