Evelyn Marino

Name: Evelyn Marino

Age: 16

School: Carpinteria High School

What issue area are you most passionate about? Which do you know the most about?  (Immigration, environment, woman’s rights, mental health, LGBTQ rights, etc.):

Woman’s rights and immigration rights for sure! I feel like these topics get swept under the rug so often, and people often turn to blame for justification on treating people unfairly. Very frustrating and I wish more people would talk about it.

What activities do like to do regularly as a pastime?

I like to do journaling, bike riding, and a lot of baking, these help me maintain a calm mind during these quarantine times.

What clubs/organizations/sports/job are you involved with outside of youth making change?

I'm involved with basketball and cheerleading and I’m currently in a club called CADE, focused on celebrating adversity, diversity, and education.
