Name: Cristhy Olivera

Age: 16

School: Pioneer Valley High School

What issue area are you most passionate about? Which do you know the most about?  (Immigration, environment, woman’s rights, mental health, LGBTQ rights, etc.):

Women’s rights because women have been oppressed throughout history and are still to this day in some ways. There’s still a difference in pay between men and women. Women keep fighting for reproductive rights over her own body. Women are often sexualized and exploited compared to men.

What activities do like to do regularly as a pastime?

I like to go on runs, cook, and spend time with my family. I don’t go on runs as much as I used to compared to cooking I do cook more. Quarantined has allowed me to spend more time with my family which I enjoy.

What clubs/organizations/sports/job are you involved with outside of youth making change?

I am part of the cross country and track team at my school along with AVID and FFA. I also spend my time volunteer at my local church.
