Linda Solin graduated from UCSB in with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies and minors in Spanish and Sociology. She enjoyed a 30 year teaching career which began in Lamont, California where she served as a bilingual teacher. Moving back to the Santa Barbara area, she continued her teaching and spent time in several local districts, the last being Goleta Union School District. She taught Kindergarten and First Grade as well as ESL.
Now retired, she is passionate about her involvement with the Santa Barbara Public Library’s Adult Literacy Program where she has volunteered for the last four years. She was involved with mentoring through CADA for six years and also enjoys volunteering in an Adult Education Conversation and Pronunciation class. She has always found it gratifying and personally enriching to be involved with people seeking to improve their lives.
Spending time with friends and family and walking on More Mesa near her home are a must. She enjoys movies, reading, and dabbling with writing and art projects.
