Susan has been a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in California for the past 30+ years, working in private practice in Santa Barbara with adults struggling with identity and intimacy issues and with couples navigating family life transitions. She has training as a Divorce Mediator and some of her practice is devoted to assisting separating partners and facilitating effective parent coordination. She serves as a Clinical Supervisor for doctoral candidates accruing their clinical hours at New Beginnings Counseling Center and previously supervised graduate school interns at the Hosford Clinic at UCSB. Susan worked at Antioch University as an Associate Professor and later as an Adjunct Professor for graduate and undergraduate psychology students. She was a Founding Board Member for SB Court-Appointed Special Advocates and also provided training for CASA volunteers. She served on the Board of the Children’s Creative Project and worked in the early days of the I Madonnari Chalk Festival. She volunteered as a Film Screener in the early days of the SB International Film Festival; and has led parent support groups for the Teddy Bear Cancer Society and assisted her daughter in establishing the first Teddy Bear Cancer Society club at SBHS. Additionally, she has been an active supporter of the Fund for many years; donating and attending Bread and Roses events, donating and supporting Youth Making Change (her daughter was among the first group of young people to participate in this program).
Susan’s other interests include film, art, travel, literature, Yoga and Pilates.
