Continued support for community organizing to prevent the proposed Lompoc Walmart expansion

Conflict Solutions Center / Restorative Justice Partnership Initiative – $8,200
Continued funding to support the use of Restorative Justice principles and practices in the juvenile justice system

Families ACT! / The Santa Barbara Homeless Blog – $5,000
Support for a blog representing the voices of and issues about Santa Barbara County’s homeless

GRACE (Gay Rights Advocates for Change and Equality) / Start-up – $3,000

Start-up funding to support the LGBT community and its allies through social networking, advocacy, and community coalition-building in the Santa Maria Valley

League of Women Voters of Santa Maria Valley / “Know Your Town” – $2,810
Funding to print and place on websites this bilingual (Spanish / English) guide to government in Santa Maria

Pacific Pride Foundation / LGBT Elders, Santa Barbara – $5,000
StartUp funding to create a sensitivity training program for agencies serving LGBT elders

Palabra / Community-Based, Socio-Culturally Sound Program for At-Risk Youth – $10,000

Funding to implement community-based and culturally sensitive outreach programs for youth and their community in order to reduce youth violence

PUEBLO / Building Capacity to Carry Out the “Insecurity of S-Comm Campaign”: A Movement Effort to Undo Racial Profiling – $3,000

Support to develop fundraising and outreach materials to help PUEBLO attract a wide array of supporters for their programs

San Luis Obispo Mothers for Peace / Mothers in Defense of Downwind Communities – $7,000
Funding for their legal case to force the NRC to meet the legal requirements & regulations designed to protect the health and safety of communities downwind of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant

Santa Barbara Teen Legal Clinic (SBTLC) / Street Law Program – $3,000
Funding to teach teens about their legal rights and the legal process and to teach law school students the value of providing pro bono services to our community

University Park Mobile Homeowners Association / The Mobile Homeowners Alliance – $7,200
Continued support to organize and empower mobile home owners in Southern Santa Barbara County and build coalitions statewide to preserve and protect affordable mobile home units

Wilderness Youth Project / Adventure Leadership Program – $5,000
Funding to teach inclusive leadership techniques to teens of all backgrounds, including those with diverse physical & cognitive abilities

William James Association / Poetic Justice Project – $5,000

Funding to support performances of the play “Off the Hook” to help educate audiences about issues surrounding incarceration, rehabilitation, and re-entry in Santa Maria
