Pacific Pride Foundation / 2010 County-Wide LGBT Summit – $3,000
Support for this one-day (Saturday, February 6, 2010), county-wide strategy summit organized by the LGBT Community Collaborative of the Central Coast and focusing on LGBT community strengths, needs and next steps in Santa Barbara County

Environmental Education Group / A Dialogue For Peace – $3,000
Support for this pilot project which opened a direct line of communication between the American and Iraqi people (students at University of California, Santa Barbara and Islamic University, Baghdad) via a webcast and allowed for unscripted communication between the two groups

“Stand In The Sand” / A Gathering for the Gulf – $3,000
Seed funding for this community-wide grassroots effort to make a statement of support, sympathy, and solidarity with the communities of the Gulf Coast who are being devastated by the BP Oil Disaster and to raise funds for relief and recovery

PUEBLO / Shared Prosperity Forum – $2,000
Funding for transportation of community members to participate in this regional day-long activist conference, training, and discussion focused on progressive policy and values.

American Indian Movement SB Chapter / Legal Fees – $1,000
Funding to file legal challenges to the portrayal of Native Americans on MTV’s “The Dudesons in America: Cowboys and Findians”

University Park Mobile Homeowners Association / The Mobile Homeowners Alliance – $2,660
Continued support to organize and empower mobile home owners in Southern Santa Barbara County and build coalitions statewide to preserve and protect affordable mobile home units

Families ACT! / 2010 Election Cycle Community Mobilization – $3,000
Funding for this 3-month campaign to educate and mobilize the community around the intersection of drug laws, alcohol/drug/mental health treatment services and crowded jails

No On T, 2010 – $3,000
Funding to oppose this measure which would have eliminated access to medical cannabis in the City of Santa Barbara

Committee For A Safer Santa Barbara County / Yes On Measure S Anti-Recidivism Messaging – $3,000
Support for the campaign effort highlighting the $5 million allocation in Measure S to mental health services, drug & alcohol counseling, education and other critical services in the jail
