American Indian Movement Santa Barbara / AIM TV – $3,050
Support for an alternative public access television show on current issues, inter-tribal education about traditions, songs and languages and contemporary achievements of native peoples

Carpinteria Valley Foundation / Opposition to Venoco’s Paredon Project – $10,000
Funding for legal advocacy to oppose Venoco’s slant drilling proposal in Carpinteria

Consumer Advocacy Coalition / Raising Community “Mental Health” Awareness – $8,450
Continuing support for advocacy, community outreach, and marketing to help better conditions for people with mental health challenges

Lompoc Housing and Development Corporation / Lompoc Community Gardens – $5,500
Support for the creation of community gardens in West Lompoc to build knowledge about health, nutrition, and use of local fresh foods during these current hard economic times

Pacific Pride Foundation / Strategic Alliance for Marriage Equality (SAME) – $5,000
Seed funding to promote local activism to achieve marriage equality at the local, state and national level in the wake of the passage, and California Supreme Court upholding of, Proposition 8

PUEBLO / General Support – $10,000
Continuing support for building power and leadership amongst low-income Santa Barbara County residents on economic and environmental justice issues

Rental Housing Roundtable / Justice for Renters! – $6,250
Seed funding for a group of community organizations and individuals to address the lack of legal rental protections, protect and increase the number of rental units and advocate for cooperative ownership

Santa Ynez Valley Alliance / Outreach Project – $10,000
Funding to support grassroots involvement in key issues affecting local sustainability, including affordable housing, transit, trails and recreation, urban growth boundaries, job-housing balance and more

Santa Ynez Valley People Helping People / Mujeres Unidas – $7,092
Funding for a women’s educational support group in Los Alamos to address issues of unmet social service needs, Latino students retention rates, rise in drug use and pregnancy rates

Boys and Girls Club of Santa Barbara / UP-2-US – $5,000
Funding to help Eastside young men organize themselves to keep youth off the streets and engage them in educational and vocational/employment training and internships

Women of Color Revolutionary Dialogues (WORD) – $3,060
Seed funding for performance art workshops that represent and analyze the lives and struggles of immigrant and working-class women and queer people of color
