Art For Change ~ Thursday, May 1st

As part of the monthly First Thursday events in downtown Santa Barbara, the Fund will be hosting it’s first "Art for Change event from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1st at the Fund for Santa Barbara office. We will be displaying (and auctioning) some of the work of the artists who have supported the Fund's work - and social justice in general – in recent years.

Come for a look, the hors d'oeuvres, the company or just because.

Award for Documentary Film!

The Fund for Santa Barbara is proud to announce that
Through A Lens Darkly:
Black Photographers and the Emergence of a People
, directed by Thomas Allen Harris is the winner of the 2014 Social Justice Award for Documentary Film.

This groundbreaking film is a feature length, documentary and multimedia outreach project that explores how African American communities have used the medium of photography to construct political, aesthetic, and cultural representations of themselves and their world.
