Qualifications:
The
Fund for Santa Barbara is seeking a dynamic individual to join
our staff and provide leadership and support to our innovative
grant-making program. This individual will have the following:
A strong commitment to the mission & philosophy of the Fund
for Santa Barbara; bilingual/bicultural (Spanish/English) preferred;
previous administration, grant management, and/or grant-making
experience; exceptional organizational and communication skills;
previous non-profit and/or community organizing experience; ability
to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple deadlines and
thrive in a fast-paced, highly social environment; experience
working with volunteers and diverse populations; strong computing
skills including (at a minimum) fluency in Word, Excel, and one
or more database programs; ability and desire to learn new technology
and incorporate it into the Fund's operations as appropriate;
ability to travel throughout Santa Barbara County (must have their
own reliable transportation).
Training will be provided to support the Program Officer to do
her/his best work.
Job Goals & Duties:
1)
Manage the complete grant application process of the Fund for
Santa Barbara, including outreach to potential applicants, creation
and distribution of RFPs, review of draft applications, facilitation
of the application submission process and management of all related
deadlines;
2) Facilitate and support the decision-making process of the Grant-Making
Committee (GMC) including timely distribution of information,
support at all GMC meetings, oversight of the site visit process,
development of strong inter-personal relationships with and among
committee members, creation and maintenance of long-term calendars
and timelines, support of the volunteer leadership, and on-going
development of the committee's skills and membership;
3) Manage the complete grant-making process of the Fund for Santa
Barbara and all related follow-up, including communicating grant
decisions, orienting new grantees, overseeing the completion of
all grant agreements and necessary paperwork, managing the follow-up
and evaluation process with each grantee, and
4) Provide complete administrative and data support for the Fund's
grant-making program including maintaining an up-to-date electronic
and hard copy database, analysis of trends and emerging opportunities,
and production of reports as needed;
5) Along with other staff and key volunteers provide on-going
technical assistance to local grassroots organizations in the
areas of financial management, fundraising, organizational development,
effective use of media, organizing strategies, lobbying &
advocacy and other areas as needed
6) Maintain a sense of humor and positive attitude in order to
preserve a cohesive work environment.

exempt, benefits-eligible position, full time, reports to Executive
Director
Compensation & Benefits:
A
competitive compensation package will be offered, based on experience
